Welcome to Scripps Ranch Pop Warner! We are very excited that your child will be playing football this season! Whether your son is a first time player or a seasoned veteran, we hope you will enjoy your experience with our organization.

Some important dates for 2017 season

MANDATORY WEIGHT CERTIFICATION: Because Pop Warner places their players by age and weight, there is a mandatory weight certification to ensure your player is placed on the correct team.  This will be held on August 5th.  It is mandatory that your child attends.  If you child cannot be there they cannot be certified to play.  Please let your Head Coach or Business Manager know as soon as possible if there are any conflicts.

TWO-WEEK MANDATORY CONDITIONING: Begins Monday, August 1st for 2 weeks and includes 20 hours of mandatory conditioning. The first 10 hours of conditioning are just in helmets and league issued short and t-shirts. The second 10 hours are in full pads. We strongly recommend scheduling family vacations before August 1st and after mid-November.  The first few weeks are very important for conditioning, player safety (via USA Football’s - Heads Up Football), offensive and defensive positions and plays.  Drills involving contact start after the first 10 hours of conditioning.  Scrimmages start after the second 10 hours of conditioning.  If you are concerned about any conflicts, please let us know as soon as possible so we can let the coaches know and develop a plan to work around them.

  • Wednesday | August 2 | 5:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday | August 3 | 5:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Friday | August 4 | 5:00-7:30 p.m. 

CONDITIONING (Flag) : First 8 hours  

  • Tuesday | August 1 | 5:15-7:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday | August 2 | 5:15-7:15 p.m.
  • Thursday | August 3 | 5:15-7:15 p.m.
  • Friday | August 4 | 5:15-7:15 p.m. 

CONDITIONING (Tackle) : Second 10 hours (Helmets, Full pads) 

  • Monday | August 7 | 5:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday | August 8 | 5:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday | August 9 | 5:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday | August 10 | 5:00-7:30 p.m. 

CONDITIONING (Flag) : Second 8 hours  

  • Monday | August 7 | 5:15-7:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday | August 8 | 5:15-7:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday | August 9 | 5:15-7:15 p.m.
  • Thursday | August 10 | 5:15-7:15 p.m. 

EARLY SEASON PRACTICE (Tackle) : May be modified based upon scrimmage dates 

  • Week 3 - Monday - Thursday | August 14 - 17 | 5:00-7:30 p.m. 
  • Week 4 - Monday - Thursday | August 21 - 24 | 5:00-7:30 p.m.
