Program Information

Cheer Spirit and Philosophy

Scripps Ranch Pop Warner’s cheer program is designed to inspire our athletes (ages 5 -14) by teaching them the important values of dedication, teamwork, friendship, leadership and good sportsmanship. We encourage all our athletes to meet each new task with a positive attitude, as well as to believe and trust in themselves and each other.

Our goal is to teach our cheerleaders how to support one another and to encourage their teammates through positive reinforcement and mutual respect for their team, their coaches, and SRPW.

SRPW strives to make Cheerleading a FUN, learning experience with lessons that follow them far beyond the spirit of cheering. Each squad is designed to work as a team representing their fellow football players during the games and to demonstrate their athletic abilities on the field and during competitions. Coaches and volunteers are dedicated individuals who enjoy working with and teaching these young girls while embracing Pop Warner’s National Philosophy of “Academics and Athletics go hand-in-hand”.

We work with the Scripps Ranch High School cheerleaders, who act as trainers and mentors for our teams. We work on team-building with our Big Sis and Little Sis program, fundraising, and supporting our football players.

Season

We kick off the season on August 1st.

Competitive teams, Mitey-Mite, Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Varsity, and Varsity will cheer at games through the beginning of November and may then continue with a local and regional competition season through the end of January.

Important Dates:  Click here for our SRPW calendar

**Uniform costs are to be paid separately from registration fees. Each uniform is made specifically for each cheerleader and is theirs to keep. Uniforms include: Vest, long sleeved slimmer, skirt, and briefs.

August 1 - This will be the start of our mandatory conditioning (minimum of 20 hours). Please try to schedule family vacations around this time period, as any conditioning hours missed will need to be made up prior to entering the regular cheer practice schedule.  We strongly recommend that your child begin to prepare for this conditioning at least one month prior to the start date.

August 5 – Jamz Camp (All Tiny Mite, Flag, Mighty Mite, and Junior Pee Wee must attend) - Vista High School

August 6 – Jamz Camp (All Pee Wee and Junior Varsity must attend) - Vista High School

August 12 - Mandatory Certifications (see below).

MANDATORY PLAYER CERTIFICATION: Pop Warner certifications are to ensure player eligibility for each division. It is mandatory that your child attends. If your child cannot be there they will not be certified to play in the 2023 season. Please advise your Head Coach as soon as possible if there are any conflicts.
