Scripps Ranch Pop Warner

On fields across America, Pop Warner is making our game safer and better, while retaining what makes the sport of football so great for young people. And we’re doing the same for our young athletes in cheer and dance.

We've instituted the nation's most advanced safety measures. USA Football’s Heads Up Football training is mandatory for all Pop Warner coaches. Similarly, we require our cheer coaches take the YCADA training. And we’re guided by an independent Medical Advisory Committee of neurosurgeons, sports medicine professionals, pediatricians and researchers who are driven by medical science and professional expertise.

Scripps Ranch Pop Warner only recognizes the athletic accomplishments of the team, not the individual. We don't track personal achievements. We applaud the athletic efforts of the individual teams to reinforce the importance of teamwork, with each member.

We don't try to build stars. We don't want to over-inflate a young ego, nor do we want to risk injuring the self-esteem of a young person. Whether our kids have good days or bad, they are still an integral part of our team…and always will be.

Program Information

Cheer Spirit and Philosophy

Scripps Ranch Pop Warner’s cheer program is designed to inspire our athletes (ages 5 -14) by teaching them the important values of dedication, teamwork, friendship, leadership and good sportsmanship. We encourage all our athletes to meet each new task with a positive attitude, as well as to believe and trust in themselves and each other.

Our goal is to teach our cheerleaders how to support one another and to encourage their teammates through positive reinforcement and mutual respect for their team, their coaches, and SRPW.

SRPW strives to make Cheerleading a FUN, learning experience with lessons that follow them far beyond the spirit of cheering. Each squad is designed to work as a team representing their fellow football players during the games and to demonstrate their athletic abilities on the field and during competitions. Coaches and volunteers are dedicated individuals who enjoy working with and teaching these young girls while embracing Pop Warner’s National Philosophy of “Academics and Athletics go hand-in-hand”.

We work with the Scripps Ranch High School cheerleaders, who act as trainers and mentors for our teams. We work on team-building with our Big Sis and Little Sis program, fundraising, and supporting our football players.

Season Start

We kick off the season on August 1st, 2024, time TBD.

Competitive teams, Mitey-Mite, Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Varsity, and Varsity will cheer at games from August through the beginning of November and may then continue with a local and regional competition season through the end of December.

**Uniform costs are to be paid separately from registration fees. Each uniform is made specifically for each cheerleader and is theirs to keep.

August 1 - This will be the start of our mandatory conditioning (minimum of 20 hours). Please try to schedule family vacations around this time period, as any conditioning hours missed will need to be made up prior to entering the regular cheer practice schedule.  We strongly recommend that your child begin to prepare for this conditioning at least one month prior to the start date.

August 3 – Jamz Camp (All Tiny Mite, Flag, Mighty Mite, Junior Pee Wee, and JV must attend) - Murrietta

August 10 - Mandatory Certifications (see below).

MANDATORY PLAYER CERTIFICATION: Pop Warner certifications are to ensure player eligibility for each division. It is mandatory that your child attends. If your child cannot be there they will not be certified to play in the 2024 season. Please advise your Head Coach as soon as possible if there are any conflicts.
